On Sunday 29th November, the Bishop will celebrate the Rite of Admission as candidates for ordination as deacons of three men from the diocese at the 12noon Mass in the Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Midleton. These men have completed an introductory year to consider this vocation. They now publicly commit themselves to undertake a three year course of study and formation with a view to possible ordination as deacons. Deacons are ordained for a ministry if service in the Church.
They may be married or celibate. All three in this second group for our diocese are married men and fathers of families. Two are from the parish of Midleton and one from the parish of Ballymacoda. This is a brief ceremony which will take place during Mass.
