“From darkness into light”
My friends,
Our spiritual journey through Holy Week leads us to think about Jesus’ last days. His experience in the face of betrayal, deceit, a show trial and torture to the point of execution, manifests the darkness and evil that so many innocent people today are subject to. In those last days Jesus on the other hand washed the feet of the apostles as an example of service and care. In the midst of his agony, he experienced the compassion of the women of Jerusalem and Veronica wiped the sweat and blood from his disfigured face. The joy of Easter comes from knowing that darkness, evil, hate, even death do not have the last word. That’s our hope, our joy and our peace. Jesus’ sacrifice reveals God’s love for the world and for us today as so many innocents suffer the affliction of war.
Easter 2026
Easter is our hope. The redemption won through the Risen Christ brings first a message of peace. This prayer for peace is an urgent need for all humanity as we face the threat of global turmoil that will impact on the poor and innocent most.
While the events of Holy Week and Easter Sunday are moments in history and time, their meaning and impact are timeless and eternal. We make this spiritual journey so that we may experience the power, joy and exhilaration of redemption for all who yearn to make the journey from darkness into light.

The Legion of Mary is a lay Catholic Apostolic organisation dedicated to prayer, service and helping people grow closer to Christ through Our Lady. We would be delighted to welcome new members who may feel called to deepen their faith and serve the parish through this beautiful apostolate. Our meetings take place every Thursday and Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the parish office. New members are very welcome to attend and see what the legion is about.

We would appreciate if some more people would join the parish envelopes for 2026. A refund can be gained for the parish if a person is paying €250 or more and paying tax. They will be printed for distribution in November. Give your name to parish secretary. In recent times people are becoming more accustomed to using online Banking. There are two separate currents accounts in the Parish, one for the parish and various collections like Emigrants, Trocaire etc. The other current account is for the support of the two priests in the parish. The priests are usually supported in Offerings at Lent, Easter, Autumn and Christmas. Some donations are handed in with the November Mass Offerings.
