Please encourage others to come to the Penitential Rite and Confessions on Tuesday and to join the prayer life of the community of faith if they have been away for Church for some time. Your kindly and encouraging word is all they may need to return to God and live as a devout Catholic again. Assure them of the Lord’s mercy, goodness, forgiveness and his willingness to help sinners. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place every Sunday during Advent with sung vespers to prepare for Christmas.

A Meeting of the Parish Council was held recently. Much of the discussion centred on preparing for and celebrating the World Meeting of families in August 2018. A Parish Mission has been arranged from Sunday the 29^th April to the 4^th May 2018. Two Redemptorist priests will conduct the Mission. A Prayer Service and blessing of babies/ children and families will take place on Sunday 7th January, Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. A special Ecumenical Service will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church during the Christian Unity Week 18-25^th January. Other events are also being planned
