The following was found in an old grandfather clock.
Here I stand by you upright
To give you warning, day and night
For every tick that I do give
Cuts short the time you have to live
Therefore a warning take from me
To serve thy God as I serve thee
Each day and night be on your guard
And thou shall have a just reward.
